Engine blade platforms produce by AEC for the LEAP engine incorporate cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, such as 3D weaving and Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), to achieve superior performance and efficiency. The use of 3D weaving enables the production of complex, preformed composite structures with precision, resulting in highly durable and damage-tolerant blades. This enables platforms to make an aerodynamic surface for smooth air flow and seals.

The fan blade platform is one component of the composite fan module. This is produced using 3D woven RTM composites for the LEAP program. Platforms form the flow path between blades. These innovative techniques contribute to the engine's exceptional fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and superior performance, solidifying the LEAP engine's position as a leading propulsion solution for modern aircraft.
